Austin Water delivers treated water averaging 93 ppm total hardness, about 5.4 grains per gallon, ranging 70 to 126 ppm across the system, and it runs a lime softening process at the plant. Cedar Park draws from Lake Travis with no softening step and delivers 183 ppm, about 10.7 grains. Round Rock blends Lake Georgetown surface water with Edwards Aquifer groundwater, and 2024 delivered hardness ranged from 184 to 358 ppm, roughly 11 to 21 grains, depending on the blend in a given part of the system. All three disinfect with chloramine rather than free chlorine. For Georgetown, Leander, Pflugerville, Hutto and Lakeway we work from your own utility's published report rather than quoting a number we cannot source.
